Compatibility comes first
A product must match the requested task, operating system, and physical disc type before it can rank. Physical UHD Blu-ray playback, UHD ripping, UHD copying, and 4K video-file playback are separate capabilities.
Ranking is deterministic
Task match contributes 40 points; operating-system and disc match contribute 20; maintained editorial priority contributes 15; budget and license preferences contribute 20; a fresh official offer contributes 5. Ties go to the lower current price.
Price and giveaway freshness
Allowlisted Leawo and CyberLink price pages are checked daily. Giveaway sources are checked every eight hours and include reusable official campaign pages, the current Giveaway of the Day listing, the official MakeMKV beta announcement, and a disclosed independent mirror when the MakeMKV forum times out. Ordinary prices disappear after 72 hours without a successful check; giveaways disappear after 36 hours, at their fixed deadline, or after a campaign that was available “while listed” is absent from two successful checks.
Automatic publication guardrails
Prices require USD, a known product, an HTTPS source, a current-version marker, and complete offer fields. Coupons require a code and scope. Giveaways require an identifiable Blu-ray product, supported platform, free claim path, license context, and either a future deadline or a currently active publisher listing. Search snippets and ended campaign pages are discovery evidence only and are never published as active giveaways.
Commercial disclosure
Configured outbound links may be affiliate links, whether they use a short URL or a vendor URL with an attribution parameter. A fresh deal adds only five ranking points, so commission availability cannot make an incompatible product rank first.
