Effective date: August 30, 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to bluraysoftware.com, including its English and Japanese pages. The site is operated by Bluraysoftware under the Blu-ray Software name. It is an independent informational site that compares Blu-ray software, publishes decision guides, and monitors prices shown on official vendor pages. The site does not sell software directly and does not operate user accounts, file uploads, checkout, or a newsletter.
2. Information processed when you use the site
Hosting and delivery data
The site is delivered as static files through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare and related network providers may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, referring page, timestamps, and security or delivery logs to serve and protect the site.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 is optional. On a first visit, the Google tag remains unloaded and analytics storage is denied unless you select “Accept analytics.” If you consent, Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser technologies and may receive page URLs, referrers, browser and device information, approximate location, and interaction events. Events configured by this site can include finder or comparison choices, result counts, product and guide labels, and the destination URL of certain outbound clicks. This information is used to understand which pages and comparison tools are useful and to maintain the site.
Google Fonts
The site requests font files from Google Fonts. When your browser makes those requests, Google may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser headers.
Finder and comparison choices
Product matching is calculated in your browser. The site does not send your selections to a Blu-ray Software account or database because no such account or database exists. If you accept analytics, selected task, operating system, disc type, license preference, budget, and result count may be included in the Google Analytics events described above. The comparison page may also place selected filters in its URL so the view can be bookmarked or shared.
Affiliate and external links
Some outbound links may be affiliate or tracked short links. The destination vendor or link provider may receive the referring page, your IP address, browser information, and its own link or campaign identifier. If you buy something, Bluraysoftware may receive attribution or commission reporting from the affiliate provider. Product vendors and payment providers handle checkout and payment-card data under their own policies; Bluraysoftware does not operate the checkout.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
The site stores your analytics choice in browser local storage so it can apply that choice on later visits. This preference stays in that browser until you change it through “Privacy settings” in the footer or clear the site’s browser storage. If you accept, Google Analytics may set or access first-party cookies such as _ga and similar browser storage. If you decline, the site does not load the Google tag. Withdrawing consent stops further site-configured analytics events and removes Google Analytics cookies that are accessible to this site. Cloudflare may separately use technologies needed for delivery or security.
4. Why information is used
- Deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site.
- Measure page use and understand finder, comparison, guide, and vendor-link interactions.
- Maintain the product catalog, price-monitoring workflow, and editorial experience.
- Attribute qualifying affiliate referrals and commissions.
5. Service providers and other recipients
Information may be processed by Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, Google for Analytics and Fonts, and the vendor or affiliate-link provider you choose to visit. Those parties process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Blu-ray Software does not control a third-party site after you follow an external link.
6. Retention
Bluraysoftware does not maintain a user-account database or store finder selections in its own server-side database. The analytics-consent preference remains in your browser until you change it or clear site storage. Technical logs, analytics data collected after consent, and affiliate attribution data are retained according to the applicable provider settings and Bluraysoftware’s operational needs. No fixed provider-side deletion period is promised here because a verified site-wide retention setting has not been documented in this repository.
7. Your choices
You may accept or decline analytics when the choice panel appears. You can reopen it at any time through “Privacy settings” in the footer to change or withdraw your choice. You may also block or delete cookies, use browser tracking protection, decline to follow affiliate links, or visit a vendor site directly. Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning personal information handled by Bluraysoftware or a service provider. Any request must be verified and handled subject to applicable law and the information actually controlled by the recipient.
8. Children
This site provides general software-comparison information and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly request names, contact details, account profiles, or uploaded media from children.
9. International processing
Cloudflare, Google, affiliate providers, and software vendors may process information in countries other than your own. Their own policies describe their processing locations and safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site’s features, providers, or data practices change. The effective date at the top will be revised when a material update is published.
11. Contact
The site operator is Bluraysoftware. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
